Richard A. Sawin, Jr.

Mr. Sawin is a founding partner of Michienzie & Sawin. The focuses of Mr. Sawin’s practice are insurance defense litigation, particularly products liability, in which he represents manufacturers, sellers, distributors and marketers; construction cases; and, multi-party complex civil litigation involving, for example, health and education institutions and antitrust matters. Representative practice areas include the defense of retailers, social service agencies, schools, land owners, cable companies, sporting goods companies and transportation companies against claims of premises liability, negligence, breach of contract, violations of Mass. Gen. Laws ch. 93A and indemnity, as well as the defense of corporations against antitrust claims.

Mr. Sawin is a graduate of Boston College (A.B., magna cum laude) and Boston College Law School (J.D.), where he was President of the Student Body.

Mr. Sawin was a clerk in the New Hampshire Superior Court in Exeter, New Hampshire. He practiced at Morrison, Mahoney & Miller and then at Sugarman, Rogers, Barshak & Cohen, where he became a partner and worked until he co-founded Michienzie & Sawin in 2000.

Mr. Sawin is admitted to practice in the Massachusetts state and federal courts.
